Endometrial Biopsy
An endometrial biopsy is a diagnostic procedure wherein a small sample of the uterine lining (endometrium) is collected to be sent lab testing to diagnose conditions like endometrial hyperplasia or cancer.
It is also used to
➔To evaluate abnormal uterine bleeding, such as heavy, prolonged, or irregular bleeding.
➔To investigate post-menopausal bleeding.
➔To diagnose conditions like endometrial hyperplasia or endometrial cancer.
➔To check for uterine infections or polyps.
➔To follow up on abnormal results from a Pap smear or treatment for endometrial hyperplasia.
➔As part of an infertility workup to check for conditions like uterine tuberculosis.
