Endometriosis:
Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause severe pain in the pelvis and make it harder to get pregnant. Endometriosis can start at a person’s first menstrual period and last until menopause.
What is the main cause of endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a condition, where there is no known cause. There are no specific ways to prevent endometriosis. However, being aware of the symptoms and getting an evaluation of the risk by a Gynaecologist can help.
Symptoms may include:
- Abdominal Swelling.
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge.
- Discomfort with bowel movement (including constipation)
- General discomfort and uneasiness
- Pain in lower abdomen or pelvic region (uterine pain)
Surgical Treatment For Endometriosis :
The best-known therapy for endometriosis has been surgical intervention, performed in a minimally invasive manner through laparoscopy. The adhesions are removed and the lesions are either destroyed with various energy sources (e.g. cautery, laser, among others) or excised.
The only effective treatment for ovarian cysts is surgical removal.
Drainage or drug therapy may not be effective option.
In acute cases of endometriosis which is referred to as stage 4 endometriosis involving the bowel and ureters (tubes that bring urine from the kidney to the bladder) may necessitate extensive surgery.
For individuals who do not respond to less invasive surgery or medical therapy and whose child-bearing is complete, hysterectomy represents an ultimate option. Get the best treatment for Endometriosis in kanakapura Road at Srishti speciality clinic.
