Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is a medical procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus and cervix with a thin, lighted tube called a hysteroscope, wherein a healthcare provider inserts a hysteroscope through the cervix into the uterus for examination. Liquid or gas is used to expand the cavity for better visualization.

It is used for diagnosis of abnormal bleeding or infertility and treatments such as removal of polyps, fibroids, or a displaced IUD).
